Lansing, MI – Jobs and livelihoods across Michigan are on the line.

In a matter of days, last summer’s activist supreme court ruling will go into effect, jeopardizing Michigan’s working class and local job providers across the state. But despite this urgent looming threat, Governor Whitmer is skipping town for an international trip to the Middle East.

“Half the battle is showing up. At a time when countless workers and job providers need urgent action from Lansing, when Michigan’s economy is on the brink of disaster and so much is on the line for so many, Governor Whitmer is simply missing in action,” said Zach Rudat, Advocacy Director for Michigan Freedom Fund. “Republicans have been consistent from day one on this fight. They’ve made protecting jobs and livelihoods their number one priority, they’ve shown up, and they’ve delivered. Now it’s time for Governor Whitmer to do the same, and put her aspirations for higher office on hold for the sake of Michigan’s economic future.”

House Republicans have led the charge in saving Michigan jobs and livelihoods, garnering bipartisan support for their plan in a matter of weeks. Their plan awaits further action from Senate Democrats.
