Lansing, MI – Thanks to Republican leadership in Lansing, millions of Michiganders can breathe a long-anticipated sigh of relief.

This week Republican leaders in Lansing negotiated and delivered a bipartisan plan to stop the looming threat to Michigan jobs and livelihoods, just minutes before that threat became a reality.

“In the face of tremendous odds, Republican leaders in Lansing stepped up, rose to the occasion, and delivered a win for Michigan workers and local job providers. Thanks to Republicans, restaurants and small businesses will keep their doors open, workers will keep more of their hard-earned dollars, and Michiganders across the state will reap the rewards of bold decisive leadership,” said Zach Rudat, Advocacy Director for Michigan Freedom Fund. “This deal is far from perfect, but it will save countless jobs and livelihoods that otherwise would have been lost if Lansing did nothing. Michigan was knocking on the door of certain economic catastrophe, but thanks to Republicans in Lansing, that crisis has been averted.”

The plan, HB 4002 and SB 8, is on its way to the Governor’s desk for final approval.
