Lansing, MI – Shocking no one, Governor Whitmer is headed on to DC on the latest stop of her self-promotion tour. Let’s cover the facts of the failed absentee Governor who owns one of the worst records in our state’s history.
- Governor Whitmer oversaw the most progressive partisan legislation session we’ve ever seen. On Whitmer’s watch, Democrats raised taxes, passed the largest state budget in history, repealed Right to Work, implemented a Green Energy Mandate, and eliminated education transparency measures.
- Michigan has lost ground in manufacturing due to the high costs of doing business here. From energy costs, to taxes, and construction red tape, Whitmer’s agenda has stifled job growth in Michigan and drove us to one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation.
- Governor Whitmer rolled out Michigan’s red carpet for the CCP-linked Gotion Mega-site in northern Michigan, a project that even Obama Appointed CIA Director Leon Panetta warned may be used for Chinese espionage.
“Before Governor Whitmer heads to Washington DC to Monday morning quarterback, she may want to consider reassessing her own failed record in Lansing. On Whitmer’s watch, our economy is suffering, our roads are crumbling, our students are falling behind, and the next generation of Michiganders are fleeing for greener pastures elsewhere,” said Zach Rudat, Advocacy Director for Michigan Freedom Fund. “Lansing won’t rebuild Michigan’s manufacturing might by using tax dollars to pick winners and losers. If we cut taxes, cut red tape, and reinvest in the basics, we can bring back jobs and build an economic environment where everyone can find success.”
Under Michigan’s failed corporate handout scheme, billions of tax dollars are wasted while the promise of “good paying jobs” consistently comes up short.
