Gretchen Whitmer left Michigan behind. Again.
Families are wondering how they’re going to afford to put groceries on the table. There’s a bipartisan tax cut on her desk right now, but Whitmer has promised to veto it.
While gas prices in the Whitmer-Biden economy are hitting record levels, Whitmer’s policies are making things worse.
Finally, a Michigan public school district spied on and retaliated against parents who were upset over the school’s COVID-19 policies. So much for the First Amendment!

PUT MONEY BACK IN PEOPLE’S POCKETS |
This week, while announcing her support for a federal gas tax holiday, Governor Whitmer said, “We need to do all we can to put money back in people’s pockets.”
But in true Whitmer style, she’s saying one thing and doing the opposite.
Last week, Whitmer promised to veto a bipartisan income tax cut that would provide Michigan taxpayers with immediate relief from her Beverly Hills fundraiser.
Here’s a breakdown from Bridge Michigan on what is in the bipartisan tax cut bill:
- Lower the individual income tax rate from 4.25% to 3.9%;
- Allow seniors 62 years and older to deduct up to $40,000 from their income taxes annually, or $80,000 for joint filers. Currently, seniors 67 years and older can deduct up to $20,000 individually or $40,000 for joint filers per year;
- Give $500 in tax credits per child under the age of 19. A family of four with a taxable income of $42,000 a year would save $1,147 a year under the plan, with $1,000 in tax credits and $147 in income tax savings.
On Fox2’s “Let it Rip,” I pointed out that the state has billions in surplus and the Whitmer admin previously wasted billions more on unemployment fraud, hush money, and handouts.
The bipartisan income tax cut on Whitmer’s desk would give instant relief to over four million Michigan taxpayers who are struggling as a result of failed Biden-Whitmer policies.
The people of Michigan know when they’re getting played by politicians. If Whitmer really wants to put money back in people’s pockets, she would sign the tax cut bill that’s on her desk right now.
PUBLIC SCHOOL BUREAUCRATS USE TAXPAYER DOLLARS TO SPY ON PARENTS |
It’s been a bad year for public school bureaucrats. They labeled frustrated parents “domestic terrorists.” They raked in massive bonuses while closing their doors to in-person learning.
And now, they’ve been busted spying on parents – and targeting those who were critical of school COVID-19 policies.
The Detroit News reports: How Rochester schools targeted parents critical of COVID-19 policies
“Their revelations and others — one staffer spent as much as 70% of her full-time job compiling dossiers on parents — show how widespread efforts were by the district to contain one of the early controversies of the pandemic.
“The two Rochester mothers have several things in common: They were part of a sizable contingent of parents who advocated for in-person classes during the first fall of the COVID-19 pandemic, and both ran afoul of school district leaders who branded them and other parents ‘protesters,’ surveilled theirs and other parents’ social media, and compiled dossiers.”
The school district has yet to apologize for spying on parents and trying to get these concerned mom’s fired.
There’s also no indication that Rochester schools have ended this violation of the First Amendment rights of the parents and students in their community.
