A new study from Johns Hopkins University puts the science and the data behind what we’ve all known from the start – Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s draconian lockdown orders didn’t save lives; they devastated them.
Also this week, we asked Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson to come clean on what campaign finance rules – if any – allow her friend Gretchen Whitmer to launder millions of dollars in corrupt campaign cash through the Michigan Democrat Party to benefit both of their reelection campaigns.
And Flint Community Schools are still closed to in-person learning, despite receiving the most Federal COVID relief in the state. Get the latest news straight from the Frontlines of Freedom.
STUDY: WHITMER’S LOCKDOWNS DID MORE HARM THAN GOOD |
Gretchen Whitmer’s draconian lockdowns were among the strictest in the country. Now, a study from Johns Hopkins concludes that Whitmer’s type of lockdown orders “should be rejected out of hand as a pandemic policy.”
“(Whitmer-style lockdowns) have contributed to reducing economic activity, raising unemployment, reducing schooling, causing political unrest, contributing to domestic violence, and undermining liberal democracy,” the experts concluded.
As a result of Whitmer’s lockdowns, inflation is soaring as prices have jumped 7.5%, while personal incomes have dropped 9.5%. Overall employment in Michigan declined by more than 258,000, and many small businesses closed their doors for good.
Deaths from drug overdoses increased by 19%. Whitmer’s order placing COVID patients into nursing homes with vulnerable seniors was especially deadly, and her administration underreported these deaths by up to 42%.
Gretchen Whitmer’s policies did more harm than good, and Michigan families are still paying the price.
IT WAS JUST GROUNDHOG DAY: ANOTHER WHITMER MONEY LAUNDERING SCANDAL |
Whitmer’s laundering of millions of dollars in corrupt campaign cash through the Michigan Democratic Party to benefit her campaign and all Democrats on the ballot this year violates the conditions provided in statute and has led to a new round of questions about why she refunded $250,000 in corrupt contributions to attorney Mark Bernstein, the brother of a sitting Michigan Supreme Court justice, but not to other liberal extremists who gave her millions above contribution limits.
This isn’t Whitmer’s first money laundering scandal. In 2018 she was lambasted by fellow Democrats for laundering corrupt campaign cash, too.
Whitmer is at it again and fellow Democrats Jocelyn Benson and Dana Nessel are letting her get away with it, because the laundered money can now be used to benefit all of their re-election campaigns.
We’ve filed a formal request for a declaratory ruling from the Secretary of State to explain what campaign finance rules she’s citing – or ignoring. Jocelyn Benson is ignoring Michigan’s campaign finance laws, ignoring Gretchen Whitmer’s laundering of corrupt campaign cash, and giving Whitmer’s donors a pass for ignoring campaign finance limits.
LET KIDS LEARN |
Closed school buildings cause great emotional and academic harm to students. Despite this, kids in Detroit were locked out of their classroom for more than six weeks.
Students in Flint are still remote – even after the district received more than $50,000 per student in Federal COVID relief and staff received $22,500 bonuses. There’s no reason for these schools to be closed.
Democrats and teachers unions are putting your kids last.
