Nessel’s Social Media Raises Concerns About Her Judgment, Sobriety

LANSING, MI – Yesterday, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel tweeted – then deleted – about accepting a “shot of whisky” from strangers during Detroit’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

A day later, Nessel replied to a tweet sharing a screenshot of her deleted tweet with a mis-numbered list she claims are the only reasons someone wouldn’t accept a shot while attending Detroit’s St. Patrick’s day parade.

While gas prices in Michigan are hitting record highs, Dana Nessel and Governor Gretchen Whitmer are determined to shut down the Line 5 pipeline, which would drive gas and energy costs in Michigan even higher.

“While Attorney General Nessel spends her time posting about Bloody Marys and whiskey, her staff is working with Governor Whitmer to shut down Line 5 which would drive record gas prices even higher,” said Tori Sachs, executive director of the Michigan Freedom Fund. “We thought Nessel was only drunk on power, ignoring requests to investigate the deadly consequences of Whitmer’s nursing home policies, but her social media raises serious concerns about her judgment and sobriety while Michiganders are really struggling.”

This isn’t Nessel’s first time making news for an alcohol related incident. Nessel previously made national headlines after getting so drunk at Spartan Stadium during a football game that she had to be removed in a wheelchair. Nessel then posted a lengthy and vulgar “apology” to Facebook. The Michigan Freedom Fund works to advance conservative ideas, hold our government accountable to taxpayers, and protect Freedom, opportunity, and workers’ Constitutional rights.
