Lansing, MI – Today, Legislative Democrats announced their intention to move Michigan’s presidential primary up to February 27, 2024, a move that would penalize Republicans in their primary to the point of irrelevance, disenfranchising over one million Republican voters in Michigan.

“This is petty politics at its worst. Democrats voted to make Republicans in Michigan irrelevant in the Republican Primary process, and in doing so knowingly and purposely disenfranchised over a million Michigan Republican and Independent voters.” said Michigan Freedom Fund Executive Director Sarah Anderson. “The last seriously contested Republican Presidential Primary in 2016 drew 1,323,589 voters. For all of their talk about protecting Democracy, Democrats have no problem taking away the power of the vote if those votes are Republican.”
