Today, the Michigan State Senate passed legislation requiring photo identification to vote.

We’re proud of the Senate Republicans who stood up and passed these bills making it easier to vote, and harder to cheat. These common-sense reforms will enhance the security of our elections.

Unfortunately, Gov. Whitmer has already signaled that she’ll veto the legislation, saying “I have a veto pen, and I am ready to use that…” Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist said, “Those bills will not get signed into law.

This is an issue with broad bipartisan support – more than 70% of Americans say they support voter ID laws. It’s time for Gov. Whitmer to listen to the people and sign this legislation.

Contact your Republican State Senator and thank them for standing up for the integrity of our elections.

And tell Gov. Whitmer: Michigan needs Voter ID!
