Freedom Fund Thanks Greg McNeilly for Ten Years of Leadership
LANSING, MI – The Michigan Freedom Fund today announced the appointment of Nate Bailey as Chairman of the organization following the resignation of previous chairman Greg McNeilly after ten years of service.
“Under the leadership of Greg McNeilly, the Michigan Freedom Fund has championed worker freedom, lower taxes and increased government transparency,” said Michigan Freedom Fund executive director Tori Sachs. “We’ve worked hard to hold state government accountable to the citizens, and everyone in Michigan owes a debt to Greg for his service to our state. As he focuses on other ventures, there is little doubt Greg will continue to ensure we always fight hard for freedom.
“We’re very proud to welcome Nate Bailey to the Freedom Fund. His experience in Michigan and across the country will be invaluable as we hold Governor Whitmer and her administration accountable for their failed policies. We look forward to achieving new victories for Michigan families and workers under his expert direction.”
McNeilly served with the Michigan Freedom Fund since its inception, first serving as President of the organization in 2012 when Michigan became a Right-to-Work state. McNeilly previously served as executive director of the Michigan Republican Party, and as campaign manager for Dick DeVos in his run for governor. Last August, McNeilly was named President and CEO of the Windquest Group.
“It was an honor to lead the Michigan Freedom Fund these last ten years, and I’m proud of what we have accomplished together for the people of Michigan,” said Greg McNeilly. “While I am focused on the new and exciting challenges ahead of me, I look forward to playing an active role in the ongoing battle to defend Michigan’s Constitutional freedoms.”
Nate Bailey previously served as Chief of Staff of the U.S. Department of Education under then-Secretary Betsy DeVos. Earlier, Bailey was director of public affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and has a long history in Michigan politics, as media director for Michigan Attorney General’s office and communications director for the late Rep. Joe Knollenberg.
“Over the last three years, Gretchen Whitmer has locked kids out of their classrooms, destroyed the jobs and communities that families rely on, and imported COVID-19 into our nursing homes,” said Nate Bailey. “The Michigan Freedom Fund has been on the frontlines fighting to protect and defend residents’ rights and their kids’ futures, and it’s a privilege to join that battle.”
