Lansing, MI – Federal authorities have charged 5 Chinese nationals with conspiracy, lying to investigators, and destroying records during a federal investigation.
The Chinese nationals were found on Camp Grayling grounds in the middle of the night last year, taking photos just 5 yards away from military vehicles, tents, and communications equipment surrounded by caution tape. The encounter also just happened to occur at the same time Taiwan military officials were at Camp Grayling participating in training exercises.
Camp Grayling is 100 miles from the site of the slated EV battery factory, Gotion, which is partially owned by the Chinese Communist Party.
“This probe underscores the vulnerabilities we face from threats around the world. Instead of heeding the bipartisan concerns from national security experts, Lansing Democrats are exacerbating those threats,” said Zach Rudat, Advocacy Director for Michigan Freedom Fund. “Democrats are using our tax dollars to help a CCP-linked corporation set up shop in Michigan, just a stone’s throw away from Camp Grayling. This reckless corporate handout isn’t just bad for our economy, it endangers our state, our country, and the brave men and women who serve in our military.”
Republicans in Lansing are paying attention to the warnings of national security experts. That’s why they are calling for stricter guardrails on the Democrats’ corporate welfare scheme, ensuring our tax dollars do not end up in the hands of America’s adversaries.
