LANSING, MI – A new video released today from the Michigan Freedom Fund counts the ten times Attorney General Dana Nessel mentioned “drag queens” while speaking on education at a civil rights event.

“Dana Nessel is fixated on pushing a radical agenda in schools while students’ math and reading levels have fallen to an all-time low,” said Tori Sachs, executive director of the Michigan Freedom Fund. “Thirty years of minority achievement in education has been erased by Democrat school shutdowns and yet Nessel chose to focus on drag queens ten times when speaking on education at a Civil Rights event.

“This wasn’t a joke or a flippant remark. This was a premeditated rant that Nessel’s staff warned against and was a significant portion of her remarks. Nessel’s unhinged diatribe shows just how out-of-touch Michigan Democrats are with families who want real solutions for their kids after Whitmer’s school shutdowns.”

Nessel Drag Queen Quotes:

1-5: “Know what’s not a problem for kids who are seeking a good education? Drag Queens, okay, let me say this, drag queens, not only are they not hurting our kids, drag queens make everything better. Drag queens are fun; drag queens are entertainment.”

6: “And you know what I’ll say that was totally not poll-tested. I say this, a drag queen for every school.”

7-8: “I am not going to talk about drag queens at all during the course of this speech. That was written by a staffer who asked me not to speak about drag queens.”

9: “I’m sorry for talking about drag queens for like a disproportionately long time during the course of my speech.”

10: “And, and Anu, I’m just saying next time you guys put one of these on, maybe a drag queen for some entertainment in between, to be a little fun, is all I’m saying.”
