LANSING, MI – After the Michigan Freedom Fund released never before seen footage of Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel advocating for “a drag queen for every school”, parents who want real solutions to improve record low math and reading levels deserve to know where Nessel’s allies stand on her radical plan for students.

Since the shocking video was released last week, notable allies of Nessel including Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D-MEA) have not denounced Nessel’s call for “a drag queen for every school.” Nessel also stated drag queens would be “fun for kids” and “lift them up when they are having emotional issues.”

Several state legislators and candidates who have been endorsed by Nessel or appeared with her on the campaign trail have also avoided stating whether or not they believe a drag queen should be put in every school.

State Rep. Darrin Camilleri (D-MEA/Brownstown) was caught on video refusing to answer if he supports a drag queen in every school.

Matt Koleszar (D-MEA/Plymouth), Betsy Coffia (D-MEA/Traverse City), Padma Kuppa (D-MEA/Troy), Kristen Rivet (D-MEA/Bay City), Maurice Imhoff (D-MEA/Jackson), Joey Andrews (D-MEA/St. Joseph), and Samir Singh (D-MEA/East Lansing) have not condemned Nessel’s call to place a drag queen in every school.

“After Whitmer’s lockdowns, students have the lowest reading and math levels in history, and all Democrats have to offer is Dana Nessel’s radical plan to put a drag queen in every school. Gretchen Whitmer and other Nessel allies’ refusal to condemn this extreme agenda is hurting the kids who need real solutions,” said Tori Sachs, executive director of the Michigan Freedom Fund.

As students’ reading and math levels continue to record-breaking lows due to Governor Whitmer’s policy locking students out of classrooms, parents now must face a far-left activist Attorney General and her liberal allies who care more about their woke agenda and drag queens than the children they aim to represent.
