More than a month has gone by since the Court of Appeals ruled against Jocelyn Benson, yet the Democrat Secretary of State still refuses to comply with the order to release documents related to her handling of the illegal coordination between then-candidate Gretchen Whitmer and her nonprofit.

Democrat Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson still has not complied with the Court of Appeals ruling ordering the release of documents related to her office’s handling of the illegal coordination between then-candidate Gretchen Whitmer and her nonprofit. Today, the Michigan Freedom Fund repeated its demand that Benson comply with the court order and release the documents.

“…Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson has repeatedly gone to court to withhold public documents related to her handling of massive campaign finance violations by her political ally, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, and a nonprofit that illegally ran television ads supporting Whitmer’s campaign for governor in 2018.”

“Parents have every right to be upset after Democrats said they shouldn’t have a say in their children’s education, Governor Whitmer locked their kids out of the classroom, and then vetoed scholarships to help students recover from her disastrous policies,” said executive director Tori Sachs. “It’s clear that Governor Whitmer hasn’t listened to parents and it’s laughable to think that Michiganders will fall for this politically poll tested stunt.”

“Record inflation in the Whitmer-Biden economy is costing families more money every time they buy groceries, fill up their gas tank, and pay their bills. The people of Michigan deserve relief but Governor Whitmer did the opposite when she vetoed three bills that would have let people keep more of their money,” said Michigan Freedom Fund executive director Tori Sachs. “Inflation is Whitmer’s biggest tax hike, hitting families where it hurts, and her partisan vetoes increased the pain each Michigander is feeling.”

“Governor Whitmer directed all of state government to increase voter registration in an election year in which her name happens to be on the ballot, wasting taxpayer’s time and money – but the damn roads still aren’t fixed, gas and grocery costs are still out of control, and thousands of jobs are leaving the state,” said Michigan Freedom Fund executive director Tori Sachs. “Whitmer is once again using the levers of government to benefit herself politically instead of serving the people of Michigan.”

“The Democrat-majority Michigan Supreme Court has slapped down Dana Nessel’s abuse of power and ruled her political witch hunt illegal,” said Michigan Freedom Fund executive director Tori Sachs. “Dana Nessel’s legal ineptitude cost Michigan taxpayers millions of dollars while she weaponized the judicial system to attack her political opposition.”

“You can always count on Governor Whitmer to do whatever it takes to advance her own political standing and today’s proposed ‘rebates’ are an election year stunt after she vetoed tax cuts on gas and relief for families and seniors.”

“Michigan parents are mad, and after more than two years of senseless, destructive education policies from unelected bureaucrats and Democrat politicians alike, they’re taking matters into their own hands.”

“Most states fought to keep the virus out of nursing homes, but Governor Whitmer deliberately ordered COVID patients into homes full of seniors, failed to provide legally required oversight, refused to accurately track how many seniors died from her policy, and even bought the silence of the Health Department director responsible for implementing her orders,” said Michigan Freedom Fund executive director Tori Sachs. “Whitmer banned family members – the most vocal patient advocates – from these facilities, and her ombudsman, the last line of defense for patients, decided to not do their legally required job. The families who lost loved ones to this deadly, unscientific policy deserve answers, and the Whitmer administration must be held accountable for this brazen act of negligence.”
