The Michigan Freedom Fund condemned Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s (D-MEA) attempt to distract voters from record inflation and her failed COVID record by bringing a Landshark to a campaign event, which is a reference to the bar where Whitmer broke her own COVID orders during the pandemic.

“After Whitmer’s lockdowns, students have the lowest reading and math levels in history, and all Democrats have to offer is Dana Nessel’s radical plan to put a drag queen in every school. Gretchen Whitmer and other Nessel allies’ refusal to condemn this extreme agenda  is hurting  the kids who need real solutions.”

The Michigan Freedom Fund is demanding Governor Gretchen Whitmer condemn the acts of violence against pro-life supporters and pregnancy centers after an 83-year-old pro-life activist was shot while going door to door in Lake Odessa last week. Since the attack, Whitmer has continued to use her “fight like hell” call to action several times.

“This wasn’t a joke or a flippant remark. This was a premeditated rant that Nessel’s staff warned against and was a significant portion of her remarks. Nessel’s unhinged diatribe shows just how out-of-touch Michigan Democrats are with families who want real solutions for their kids after Whitmer’s school shutdowns.”

A new ad released today from the Michigan Freedom Fund features a never-before-seen video of Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel calling for “a drag queen for every school.” The ad, titled “Drag Queens,” uses unaltered video footage from Nessel’s speech in June at the Michigan Department of Civil Rights.

One week after student test scores revealed the devastating consequences of Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s (D-MEA) education policies, the Michigan Freedom Fund condemned Whitmer for her latest desperate attempt to rewrite history.

“Whitmer mandated and allowed the longest school closures in the nation to appease radical teachers’ unions knowing the devastating impacts it would have on students. When Whitmer got the opportunity to give parents reading scholarships to help kids catch up, she vetoed them at the behest of the unions. It’s time to set students free from the selfish teachers’ unions and give every family a choice in their education.”
